Zen-on G1A Bressan alto a=442. This new Bressan plastic recorder has been designed by recorder makers Shigeharu Hirao and Hiroyuki Takeyama. Made from ABS Resin this recorder has been designed as a high quality plastic recorder modelled after Bressan's original instruments. "Relentless pursuit of perfection" Quality, sound and innovation through a meticulously reproduced bore, undercut toneholes, arched windway and authentic look. Includes a soft black case with red trim, fingering chart, joint grease, cleaning rod and thumbrest. Comments from Shigeharu Hirao and Hiroyuki Takeyama Recorders have undergone many improvements over a long period of time since the Renaissance, through the Baroque era, when they attained their present form. Baroque original instruments, including and represented by Bressan's, are regarded as the most exquisite intruments even today and that is our opinion too. This means that for this model G-1A, how faithfully we reproduce the original is the key aim. In order to acheive this aim, the degree of perfection and integrity of the original recorder that we based its design on are the vital factors - above all, it has to have a stable sound. The new Bressan recorders by Blezinger are instruments made in cooperation with one of the best German industrial recorder makers. As the name implies the instruments are modelled after originals by P. I. Bressan. The recorders have a typically easy response and excellent tuning, combined with a rich and colourful sound. The project is based on Stephan Blezinger’s extensive knowledge of instruments by P.I.Bressan and decades of making entirely handcrafted recorders. The most recent high precision woodwork technology as well as intensive research into treatment of woods are combined with highly skilled workmanship in the hand-finishing of every single instrument – exactly the same processes as handmade recorders. The results are recorders suitable for the highest of musical demands, warm, brilliant and able to modulate, easy to play due to their secure response and precise intonation.. The Bressan recorder range is aimed at advanced scholars and students, amateurs, players requiring an additional high level instrument – and bridge the gap between standard middle range baroque recorders and top end hand made instruments. Bressan moved from France to England in 1688 and established himself in London, where he mainly made recorders. His instruments tended to have thick ivory mounts which he added on to his recorders after applying the “golden ratio” to cut them. There are Bressan recorders in England, including a particularly well preserved one in the Bate Collection in Oxford. The original Bressan recorders tend to be pitched around a=409.
