Mollenhauer Canta 2206 alto (treble) f', pearwood, baroque fingering, double hole. Made from pearwood the alto Canta has a warm, clear and mellow tone. It responds well, even in the upper register, and is easy to handle and feels well balanced. The Canta series is suitable for beginner players or as a very economically priced consort set.

This recorder comes with a cotton bag , cleaning rod and cloth, cork grease, fingering chart and maintenance instructions.

First visit

Lovely instrument. I’m an amateur but enjoying having an upgrade from a plastic one!! Was there meant to be a cleaning brush/ stick in the case? It was empty so I’ll order one.

Mollenhauer Canta Alto Recorder

I’m very pleased with the Mollenhauer Canta. The beak is small, the balance is beautiful, it responds well and sounds lovely. It’s my upgrade from a plastic instrument and I’m looking forward to playing everything on it! Thanks EMS.

Really enjoying playing this instrument

I chose this recorder for the tone in your example, the price and the other reviews. I am 84 and not having played a recorder for over thirty years was full of misgivings about taking it up again. I was gratified to discover the tone in the lower register was beautifully rich and the notes easy to obtain. The upper register has taken a little longer to make sound beautiful but now I have finished the playing in period they are beginning to respond well. My breath control was pretty poor to start with but is improving by leaps and bounds which can only be good for my general health. I am finding getting back into playing easier than expected The recorder is definitely “user friendly”, I love it and would definitely recommend it to anyone in my position.
