    Our exclusive Heritage Baroque guitar has a coopered back and sides and is fitted with Aquila Nylgut strings. It is an attractive instrument with a bright, clear tone. We set up these instruments to play at baroque pitch, a415, however they also are well suited to modern pitch by simply changing the strings.     In the late eighteenth century and before, there was a family of guitar builders under the name Voboam. Almost every instrument was richly decorated and obviously made to order for wealthy discerning customers. This guitar is based on the guitars of Alexander Voboam, who was active in Paris around 1684. Our Voboam guitar is based on the instrument depicted in Jan Vermeer's famous painting "De gitaarspeelster", which unequivocally shows a Voboam guitar, and surviving examples found in the Ashmolean Museum. The back is made of alternate ribs of walnut and lacewood. The soundboard is from Sitka spruce with walnut banding. Supplied with a semi-rigid padded bag.     Baroque Guitar after Marianita by Matias Crom The "Marianita" is a 5 course baroque guitar inspired on the "Vihuela de Quito" with a playing string length of 68cm. The top is made from the finest mountain Austrian Spruce with the original purfling decoration and rose design. This simple yet elegant rose makes this guitar very resonant. Sides are made in 5 pieces using walnut and cypress and the back is coopered as many were from this period and made with 15 ribs of cypress with thin walnut spacers. The neck is carved from pearwood just like the original.
