This simple rattle drum, commonly called a monkey drum, is 2.5cm in diameter.

8 graduated tongues of maple create the sides of this stir drum. A beater is drawn in a stirring motion around the inside to create a series of staccato clacks. There is a handle and the diameter is 22cm. Beater included.

Often shown being played with a tabor pipe, it can lend its unique and interesting sound to any ensemble. This drum has a spruce soundboard with walnut ends, cherry sides and back, maple bridge, ebony violin pegs, and is individually serviced and fitted with gut strings by our luthier prior to despatch . The scale length is 19″ and the instrument has a French polished finish.
