Immensely popular range of recorders originally designed by Friederich von Huene after models by Belgian maker Jean-Hyacinth-Joseph Rottenburgh (1672-1756). Versatile, reliable and used by all levels of players who enjoy instruments made to consistently high standards. They are without doubt the world's most successful recorder series and remain one of our best sellers. The Rottenburgh is the instrument of choice for those recorder players who wish to play music at an advanced level. It is a reliable instrument with a carrying tone, whether played in small or large ensembles. It also lends itself perfectly for solo pieces, e.g. for sonatas with basso continuo. The Rottenburgh is the ideal all rounder: reliable, balanced and with a full tone. Depending on the wood it has a warm full sound for ensemble playing and is beautifully clear and expressive as a solo instrument.

Lovely instrument

I am still playing in this recorder, but already I am very pleased with it. The tone is clear and bright, but has warmth. Both low & high notes sound well. The grained wood is of course beautiful. It is lightweight and comfortable to hold, although slightly slippery!

Beautiful instrument - to look at, and play

This is truly a beautiful instrument - to look at and play. The wood grain and craftsmanship are amazing! I'm still playing it in but so far I'm delighted with the sound, especially the high notes. The sound is bright, sweet and cheerful and it's lightweight to hold; it almost 'plays itself'. Beautiful. I also have a Palisinder Moeck alto recorder which has a different sound (warm and rich), so the two complement each other perfectly. Very pleased.

A beautiful recorder

I tried this recorder in grenadilla but preferred the sweeter sound of this recorder in the high notes. I love playing it.
