    Piper's Publishing
    £46.00
Grand Tour In 1983 Eric was awarded a Winston Churchill Fellowship which enabled him to travel around Europe and visit many of the major historical instrument collections. He has now published the report of the trip for the first time – in facsimile. Nearly 40 16th century reed instruments were studied in detail, and whilst the main focus was on crumhorns – curtals, shawms and rauschpfeifen were also examined. The book comes complete with two detailed full-size drawings of an extended tenor/bass crumhorn and an alto shawm, as well as many photographs and details of 38 original 16th century reed instruments.
