A new baroque flute model by German maker Martin Wenner. Pierre Gabriel Buffardin (ca. 1690–1768) was one of the most famous flautists of his time and a pioneer of the transverse flute in Germany. From 1715 to 1749, he was the first flutist of the Dresden Hofkapelle, one of the best and most famous orchestras of the time. Buffardin was a colleague of Pisendel, Veracini, Weiss and also Quantz, who he taught. Although it is documented that Buffardin was engaged in flute-making, none of his instruments has survived. It is all the more astonishing that in 2015 this flute with the signature ‘BUFFARDIN LE FILS’ appeared. The flute shows a high level of craftsmanship and represents a symbiosis of French and German flute-making. This flute is characterised by a robust and warm sound, which is enormously carrying. It is excellently suited for the interpretation of High Baroque flute music and is extremely versatile. It is made in grenadilla and is at a=415.

The Unique Flute by German maker Martin Wenner is the perfect wooden baroque flute for beginners or those wishing to explore baroque repertoire. It is pitched at a=442 Hz so can be played together with recorders or other modern instruments. This model has offset finger holes making it ideal for younger players or those with a smaller reach. This flute is made of plumwood which gives a rich, sonorous tone. It is constructed in four joints and features an oval embouchure, making it easier to play. For ease of maintenance its tenons are covered with cork. This flute comes with a fabric soft case and cleaning rod.

A baroque flute modelled after August Grenser by renowned maker Martin Wenner. The original flute by Grenser was constructed around 1790 and is in a private collection. It is made of ebony and has four interchangeable joints playing at the pitches of a=440 Hz to a=420 Hz. In addition, the original has a C foot joint and a D foot joint with a register. This flute by Wenner is single-keyed and pitched at modern pitch (a=440). Like the original it is made of European boxwood which gives a full, colourful tone. It comes with a decorative soft case, cleaning stick and Wenner's oil.
