The Society of Recorder Players, the SRP, is a fantastic charity organisation promoting and supporting recorder playing in the UK. We caught up with Moira Usher from the Suffolk SRP branch as, not only are they hosting the festival next year, it's where our newly opened Snape store is!

Today we're launching our first competition of Recorder31. Every Saturday in August will be the start of a week-long recorder playing competition. As it's "Play Bass and Beyond" weekend, we are starting with the bass recorder competition. Up for grabs this week is a £50 EMS gift card. We'll provide the music, you provide the playing!

We're kicking off this year's Recorder31 with bass recorder week, and by bass recorder we mean all of them, from the bass reorder (basset) to the sub-sub-great bass recorder!
