premature request

One generally obtains viol strings as spares so that you can replace if a string breaks while you are playing with a group. Thus I have not yet used the purchased string. I have found EMS stings adequate in the past for treble strings, though lower bass ones seem less satisfactory, while still having the advantage of being usable and comparatively affordable.
