TPW Unfretted Clavichord Kit after Gerlach School by The Paris Workshop
TPW Unfretted Clavichord Kit after Gerlach School by The Paris Workshop - supplied in kit form for home assembly.
TPW Unfretted Clavichord with 61 notes: FF-f''', A415, double strung
It was frequently observed in the past that a good clavichordist would make a good harpsichordist, but not necessarily the reverse. The mechanism is very simple: The brass tangents are set in the ends of each key, and strike the pairs of strings as well as determine their speaking length
The imposing Unfretted Clavichord, with its individual pairs of strings for each note, is suitable for much 18th-century music, even including the early piano repertoire up to Beethoven.
