My Favourite Melodies (soprano recorder) - Sarah Jeffery

I have the alto version of this and found it a nice collection - some pieces above my current ability but enough of a mix to not be too daunting. The soprano version is much harder with many pieces very challenging indeed. I have had to put this collection away to be tackled later. On the plus side the presentation is clear and the supporting downloads very useful. I would describe it as intermediate to advanced rather than intermediate.

Satisfied customer

Firstly it is enjoyable. The pieces are fun to play. It's very helpful to me to be able to listen to each piece of music, played by an expert player. Also to have tips on how to approach the pieces. I have practised from the book daily, and improved because I just find the music a joy to practice. I would place myself as an intermediate player but there is always room for improvement and I think I have improved since playing these pieces. Whether my dogs and husband agree, well, they're not having a say.

Sarah is a professional in every sense of the word. She can play anything. I enjoy watching her videos. I don't have a title for this review, only what I've already said. The book is beautifully done. Buy it!

My Favourite Melodies

I first came across Sarah from her You Tube channel Team Recorder. I have gained so much from her knowledge and this book is a delight. At present I am playing The Wellerman for my MTB exam, most unaccompanied, but the Theme and Variation 1 accompanied by my teacher on a Heron Drum. I am looking forward to Book 2 coming out.
