Immensely popular range of recorders originally designed by Friederich von Huene after models by Belgian maker Jean-Hyacinth-Joseph Rottenburgh (1672-1756). Versatile, reliable and used by all levels of players who enjoy instruments made to consistently high standards. They are without doubt the world's most successful recorder series and remain one of our best sellers. The Rottenburgh is the instrument of choice for those recorder players who wish to play music at an advanced level. It is a reliable instrument with a carrying tone, whether played in small or large ensembles. It also lends itself perfectly for solo pieces, e.g. for sonatas with basso continuo. The Rottenburgh is the ideal all rounder: reliable, balanced and with a full tone. Depending on the wood it has a warm full sound for ensemble playing and is beautifully clear and expressive as a solo instrument.

The 4205 soprano is made from palisander (Brazilian rosewood) A naturally oily wood of even density. Specific density 0.88. Excellent warm, round tone, rich in overtones.

This recorder comes with a hard case, cleaning rod and cloth, cork grease, fingering chart and maintenance instructions.

This Rottenburgh recorder also comes with a free Moeck Z0001 maintenance set (recorder oil, oil brush, anti-condensant, paintbrush, maintenance manual).

Nice recorder

It has a warm resonant voice and is easy to play across its entire range of two octaves plus a note or two. It is suitable for ensemble playing as well as solo work. The holes are quite easy to find by feel. It is a little weak that is less resonant on its lower E but that is very minor.

An absolute dream!

The sound is so clear and absolutely beautiful. It's super light and easy to play. It takes so much less breath to get a clear note than my last recorder, it's an absolute dream!

Moeck Rottenburgh Soprano Recorder in Palisander

Incredible. I have been a recorder player for just over 30 years and have moved from Pear wood the my recent purchase the of the Soprano Paisander. When I took my grade 1 my music teacher had the same recorder and I dreamed of having one just like her. After many years of not playing I recently picked up the recorder and decided to buy a new one. It’s been a totally dream to play, can’t fault the service or the instrument.

An instrument of quality

I’ve been very careful to play this beautiful instrument in so it produces a lovely warm tone. Can’t wait to use it over Christmas.
