Immensely popular range of recorders originally designed by Friederich von Huene after models by Belgian maker Jean-Hyacinth-Joseph Rottenburgh (1672-1756). Versatile, reliable and used by all levels of players who enjoy instruments made to consistently high standards. They are without doubt the world's most successful recorder series and remain one of our best sellers. The Rottenburgh is the instrument of choice for those recorder players who wish to play music at an advanced level. It is a reliable instrument with a carrying tone, whether played in small or large ensembles. It also lends itself perfectly for solo pieces, e.g. for sonatas with basso continuo. The Rottenburgh is the ideal all rounder: reliable, balanced and with a full tone. Depending on the wood it has a warm full sound for ensemble playing and is beautifully clear and expressive as a solo instrument.

The 4205 soprano is made from palisander (Brazilian rosewood) A naturally oily wood of even density. Specific density 0.88. Excellent warm, round tone, rich in overtones.

This recorder comes with a hard case, cleaning rod and cloth, cork grease, fingering chart and maintenance instructions.

Buying a soprano recorder

It was so helpful being able to have three instruments on trial before committing to the purchase of one of them and also receiving advice on which instruments to choose. I was allowed to keep and play the recorders for up to two weeks, although being new hardwood instruments, I could not play each instrument for very long every day. I now have an instrument whose tone I love and so enjoy playing. I would highly recommend this shop
