Blowing in.

The recorder has taken longer than usual to settle but is now beginning to deliver a clear and pure tone.

Such a beautiful recorder! The Kung can take a lot of air without pitch modulation, so it's great for a soloist. It's beautifully made, with the unique grain of the wood giving it a particularly lovely finish. It's very responsive and very lightweight for a darker wood. I received the recorder as one of three I had ordered on approval. It was a difficult choice as all three instruments were exceptional, however the Kung felt like an extension of me. Every time I picked it up I was amazed by the warmth of the sound and the syrupy harmonics. It has a strong bottom register and a firm and 'pingy' top range. The customer service from EMS was also brilliant - I ordered the recorders on a Friday and had received them by the Monday. Completely fuss-free. A great service especially in these trying COVID times. Thanks EMS!
