Returning for its fifth edition this year, Recorder31 is our annual virtual festival celebrating all things recorder. From interviews to promotions, we've got a great month in store for you all. Read on to find out a little bit about this year's programme...

Side-By-Side Interviews

Professional recorder players from a range of different backgrounds have been paired together for some informal conversations about their careers. Featuring players including Erik Bosgraaf, Olivia Petryszak, Otto Hashmi and many more, these chats are wide-ranging and cover a number of contrasting musical styles. Team Recorder

We're thrilled to be partnering once again with Team Recorder's Sarah Jeffery who will be introducing some of the recorder's extended family – these sizes and pitches of instrument are some of the most unusual and special instruments in our catalogue!

New Releases

We'll be bringing you coverage of new releases in the recorder world, including albums by BLOCK4 and Laura Cannell – along with interviews with the artists themselves.

This year we've been running interviews with some of our valued suppliers – and this August, it's the turn of the recorder makers! Join us to find out more about some of the recorder manufacturers whose instruments form The Early Music Shop's catalogue.

With support from some of our valued suppliers, we'll be offering you the chance to show off your recorder talents with great prizes on offer. A heads up: the first competition launches on Thursday 1st August, so get your recorders at the ready! Last year we had some incredible entries so we can't wait to see what you share this year!
