Recently bought a YRGB61 Great Bass recorder in maple..

I play in a recorder consort and we lost our great bass player. So I wanted to get a great bass to play with the group. Ordered from the EMS and found Peter to be very helpful. The instrument came very promptly to Australia and I set about trying to play it. I think it worth spending the time with any new recorder to get the tuning right no matter what size, and then when I went in search of the soul of the instrument I found it was very beautiful. Played with the consort (we also have a contra bass) and the sound blended really well. I bought the instrument for a very good price from the EMS and can most certainly recommend it. Cork grease was supplied and you need a lot of it when it is new and stiff. The fully adjustable bocal is very good. This is a quality instrument which will delight you and your group. I have played the Kung direct blow Great Bass which needs heaps of air. This one does not need quite so much air due to the bocal. Thank goodness! I love it's sound quality.
