Yamaha YRB61 Bass Recorder Stained Maple

Don't overlook this fantastic instrument!

I get it: basses with crooks are not as popular as knick models - but that is no reason to overlook this model. It plays just over 2 octaves easily, is light (for a wooden bass) and, having a metal crook / bocal, almost no moisture ends up in the windway because it condenses in the bocal and can be easily tapped out onto a cloth. It's also nearly £400 cheaper than the knick model (by another maker) that I almost bought. It sits comfortably in my hands and plays easily down to its lowest notes. Fun fact: I have the matching great bass and one of my colleagues has the same GB. We are now being accused of allowing our great basses to breed, resulting in this matching bass!
