The Triebert plastic recorder range are top quality instruments which deliver a rich body of sound, while providing the convenience of durable, maintenance-free resin. They have conventional baroque fingering, a typically easy response and excellent intonation. The bass has double keys F/F# and a knick head joint making it easy for players with a smaller than average hand stretch. All bass recorders have curved windways and are supplied in an attractive leatherette case with joint grease, sling, fingering chart and cleaning pull-through.

Triebert Bass Recorder

I am very pleased with my fourth bass recorder. The Triebert is comfortable under the fingers, has a pleasing even tone throughout its range and is reliable around top C#/D which none of my previous recorders were. Good value for money.

This recorder has been easy to play and it has a lovely tone. Once I bought a spike for it everything became perfect.

Don’t be put off by the look of it !

Ok, it might look like a bit of plastic downpipe but it’s a silly price for a bass recorder that generally acquits itself very well. I had to work out a few less conventional fingerings for some notes but found reasonable alternatives relatively easily. Having been mainly a A 415 player over my career I bought this to play 440 consorts with old colleagues and it ticks the boxes without breaking the bank.

Easy to use, one comment though, there is no neck hanger included. I made a d.i.y. one myself.

Triebert Bass Recorder

I have not played a bass recorder for more than 40 years and didn't often then. I did not want to spend a fortune but wanted to stretch myself literally and metaphorically, to improve breath support and tax the grey cells trying to read bass clef. This is proving a good instrument for these purposes. It has a pleasant tone and is strong at the bottom of its range but also sounds good on the pinched notes. Aesthetically, it is not very well finished, with a few rough bits of plastic, probably where it has come out of a mould, and the neck halter is not comfortable. However, you get a lot of very playable instrument for your money.
