Great strings but a gamble

These are some of the best raw gut strings available. They have depth and warmth and they project as well as steel strings. Unfortunately and sadly, very sadly they often do not send what you purchase. Not The Early Music Shop. These guys were great, fast and they send you what you order. I'm referring to Toro. I've had to get the callipers out to check, at times what is in the packet is nowhere even close to the gauge that I've purchased. I have no idea why this is but it turns buying these strings into a kind of gamble. I live in Australia so return postage is almost as expensive as just buying a new string. When the right gauge shows up, these strings are the best but when not, they are basically no use to me. I guess it speaks volumes that I persist with these strings when the hit rate is about 50% at this point. Still giving 4 stars.
