Takeyama Alto Recorder in Boxwood (a=415)
This baroque-pitched alto recorder is made in the Takeyama workshops in Japan. It is made of stained Brazilian boxwood.
This is a very light weight instrument and is extremely responsive to play. The boxwood produces a warm tone, giving it a more weighty sound than the maple alto. It is an ideal low-pitch alto recorder for ensemble and occasional solo playing. This recorder plays evenly across the whole register. Its responsiveness is well suited to fast passage work!
