Light cedar case within decorative protective outer case, with keys made of laburnum and blackwood.
This instrument was used in a film about Anne Boleyn and her music teacher/lover Mark Smeaton.
A twin of it was made for Sir Charles Mackerras for use in early opera productions.
Case decoration and soundboard rose taken from 1537 instrument by Giovanni Francesco Antegnato of Brescia.
