This new series of Paetzold recorders combines 40 years of experience with innovative design and techniques. Recorders in the Solo recorder range are made of Resona plastic and are 40% lighter than the equivalent wooden models. They are made using state of the art 3-D printing. Lovely instrument

I have received my great bass. I'm enjoying learning to manage it (old habits like the pinched thumb take a while to get out of). I love the mellow sound. It's light enough that I will be able to take it easily to SRP meetings if we can ever resume them. I have only a couple of comments, which are helpful rather than critical. The website suggests buying a stand and a case -- good advice, but I'd suggest also recommending a spike. I've just ordered one and I think it will make it more comfortable to play. The other suggestion is that it would be useful to include a fingering chart showing the notes in the bass clef. I can play C and F instruments in the treble clef, and I play an F bass; a bit more help while I get used to C fingering in bass clef would be much appreciated.

Paetzold SOLO Great Bass Recorder

I have not previously played a Paetzold recorder of any size and this is also my first experience of playing a Great Bass.I love the beautiful rich sound it makes and am delighted to have a hard carrying case for extra peace of mind when transporting the instrument. I was very pleased to have a friend talk me through the assembly of the instrument, I would have struggled with just the instruction sheet provided.
