Mollenhauer TE4428 Dream Edition Tenor In Plumwood. Due to their characteristic wide bore and full round sound Dream-Edition recorders are also suitable for demanding solo recorder repertoire. These hand-finished instruments in European plumwood with maple decorative rings combine a colourful rich sound with a stable tone. Baroque fingering and double holes provide surprising agility.

Produced in collaboration with reputable Dutch recorder maker Adriana Breukink, the Dream range is a popular choice of instrument with all levels of player. They produce a sound that is full and powerful like the renaissance originals but with an easy response over two octaves.  The Dream recorder is also popular with folk musicians who require a louder instrument for performance with amplified instruments.

The tenor has ergonomically designed keys:

    Attractive shell-shaped keys
    Robust mechanism
Fingering made easy by roller mechanism fitted to double keys
    Well balanced sound
With luxury leather bag, mop, cork grease, fingering chart, maintenance instructions.

Wonderful sound but can be tricky to play

The Mollenhauer Dream Edition Tenor has a wonderful sound with a Renaissance touch. It takes more air in general and any problems on your breathing techniques would be revealed. But that is just motivation to practice and practice!

Tenor Recorder

First - a marvellous shop and a delight to visit. I was offered a practice room and freedom of the tenor recorder cupboard to try as many recorders and given as much time as I needed. I was not hassled but help and advice was available when required. It is too early to give a review of the instrument as it still needs playing in (I will write one in a few months). If you want to choose a recorder in whatever price range this is the place to go.
