just what I wanted…!

First, I wanted advice - and got it. Second, I am happy with my purchase, good value for money, gives me the opportunity to play at baroque pitch with a pedantic harpsichord-playing friend, without spending a fortune… win-win!

alto recorder in pearwood

The order arrived quickly from the UK to Canada. It has a rich tone and the octaves are changeable.Being principally a soprano player I am still getting used to the larger ffingering. This instrument is good value for the money.

An excellent and affordable introduction to baroque pitch

I bought the Mollenhauer Denner Line Alto Recorder at a=415 for the added depth and colour that baroque pitch would add to the recorder version of the Bach cello suites, and have found it a responsive and expressive instrument with a rich warm tone which is easy and delightful to play and (in the pearwood version at least) affordable as well as beautiful. An excellent purchase.
