Mollenhauer Dream Soprano Recorder Pearwood Double Holes

6 reviews
£97.08 excluding VAT (UK Export Price)

Mollenhauer 4119. Adri's Dream recorder soprano (descant) c'', pearwood, renaissance (wide) bore, baroque fingering, double holes.

Made from pearwood with dark stained rings, this is an ideal first recorder for teaching in groups or classes, the large finger holes making it ideal for children. Produced in collaboration with reputable Dutch recorder maker Adriana Breukink, the Dream range is a popular choice of instrument with all levels of player. Based on the renaissance style after van Eyck it has a wide bore giving it a broad, full sound, but has conventional baroque fingering. This results in a sound that is full and powerful like the renaissance originals but with an easy response over two octaves. The Dream recorder is also popular with folk musicians who require a louder instrument for performance with amplified instruments.

With cotton bag, mop, cork grease, fingering chart, maintenance instructions.

A great first wooden recorder

I've been breaking in my new Mollenhauer Dream Soprano for almost 2 weeks now, and each day it sounds better than the day before. After learning to play on plastic recorders during the pandemic, this is my first wooden recorder, and I am amazed by the nuances and warmer sound that this recorder produces. I'm sure as time goes by and I get better playing, this recorder will further set itself apart from plastic recorders.

nice recorder

It played very nicely within a few days and even though it's not as 'renaissance sounding' as i had hoped, it is a very nice recorder.

Dreamy Dream

I purchased my Mollenhauer on recommendation by the team at the Early Music Shop and it has not disappointed. Beautifully presented in a soft case, with cleaning brush and cork grease, it really feels like I'm taking something from a treasure chest when I come to play my recorder. This gorgeous pearwood recorder, is great to touch, very responsive and has a warm tone. Dreamy, Dream Soprano Recorder.

Great choice for early music

This soprano took a little time for the higher notes to speak clearly and easily, but the excellent EMS Approval scheme gave me 2 weeks of playing-in to decide, and now it’s a favourite. The tone suits earlier music particularly well, I think.
