Mollenhauer Dream Soprano Recorder Pearwood Double Holes

16 reviews
£97.08 excluding VAT (UK Export Price)

Mollenhauer 4119. Adri's Dream recorder soprano (descant) c'', pearwood, renaissance (wide) bore, baroque fingering, double holes.

Made from pearwood with dark stained rings, this is an ideal first recorder for teaching in groups or classes, the large finger holes making it ideal for children. Produced in collaboration with reputable Dutch recorder maker Adriana Breukink, the Dream range is a popular choice of instrument with all levels of player. Based on the renaissance style after van Eyck it has a wide bore giving it a broad, full sound, but has conventional baroque fingering. This results in a sound that is full and powerful like the renaissance originals but with an easy response over two octaves. The Dream recorder is also popular with folk musicians who require a louder instrument for performance with amplified instruments.

With cotton bag, mop, cork grease, fingering chart, maintenance instructions.

Beautiful recorder

Such a lovely replacement for my old Yamaha soprano recorder. Couldn’t be happier with the tone, look & feel of this beautiful recorder.

Mollenhauer Dream Soprano Recorder

It is a beautiful recorder with a strong open sound. I am a beginner and want to play folk music so this was recommended for playing with folk instruments. I am breaking it in at the moment for two weeks but I really love the sound and feel of the recorder. It is very well made and the service from the Early Music Centre was excellent

I love this recorder

I got to try out this and 2 other recorders on the on approval scheme. I was tempted by a baroque recorder after struggling to cover all the finger holes consistently on the Dream, but I am used to it now. It makes a gorgeous soft tone that I love, and it is a completely beautiful instrument. I am still a beginner and this is my first wooden instrument and I am really loving playing it and hearing it and feeling it.

Mollenhauer Dream soprano

Perfect for the baroque repertoire, I like the large holes, light weight and full loud sound.

such a fun instrument!

i love this recorder! i'd been recently approaching more advanced repertoire on a $20 stick from amazon and switched to this recorder halfway through to reward myself for my progress as well as enable better playing. the difference is astonishing: it's so much more responsive. The tone of the recorder has so much character and is easy to mold into what i want it to be; the notes are beautifully mellow and the high range is easier to make sound, especially when i adjusted to the instrument. The holes in this renaissance-style recorder are also closer together than in my old (baroque-style i think?) recorder which makes rapid passagework easier, and the larger holes allow for fine adjustment of note pitch. I've had this for about a month and so far am extremely pleased with this lovely instrument.
