£343.75 excluding VAT (UK Export Price)

Immensely popular range of recorders originally designed by Friederich von Huene after models by Belgian maker Jean-Hyacinth-Joseph Rottenburgh (1672-1756). Versatile, reliable and used by all levels of players who enjoy instruments made to consistently high standards. They are without doubt the world's most successful recorder series and remain one of our best sellers. The Rottenburgh is the instrument of choice for those recorder players who wish to play music at an advanced level. It is a reliable instrument with a carrying tone, whether played in small or large ensembles. It also lends itself perfectly for solo pieces, e.g. for sonatas with basso continuo. The Rottenburgh is the ideal all rounder: reliable, balanced and with a full tone. Depending on the wood it has a warm full sound for ensemble playing and is beautifully clear and expressive as a solo instrument.

The 4208 soprano is made from rosewood - Honduras. Hard, heavy attractive grain. Specific density approx. 1.05. Rich in overtones.

This recorder comes with a hard case, cleaning rod and cloth, cork grease, fingering chart and maintenance instructions.

This Rottenburgh recorder also comes with a free Moeck Z0001 maintenance set (recorder oil, oil brush, anti-condensant, paintbrush, maintenance manual).

A Quality made recorder

This recorder is precisely made and has a beautiful colour and grain finish. The joints ‘click' together smoothly and snuggly. Playing this recorder is a joy, as both high and low notes respond quickly and are produced easily.

Moeck Rosewood Soprano recorder

This is a suprise 18th birthday present for my daughter! She already owns the rosewood alto and I can't wait to see her face when she opens this in a few weeks time! The sound of the alto is beautiful and it looks stunning. The soprano is much the same (I had a sneaky play to check it had travelled well). I want to thank The Early Music Shop for the service, as both these recorders have been ordered from Kuwait and will be returning with my daughter, to be used when she starts at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in the summer! Thank you!
