Immensely popular range of recorders originally designed by Friederich von Huene after models by Belgian maker Jean-Hyacinth-Joseph Rottenburgh (1672-1756). Versatile, reliable and used by all levels of players who enjoy instruments made to consistently high standards. They are without doubt the world's most successful recorder series and remain one of our best sellers. The Rottenburgh is the instrument of choice for those recorder players who wish to play music at an advanced level. It is a reliable instrument with a carrying tone, whether played in small or large ensembles. It also lends itself perfectly for solo pieces, e.g. for sonatas with basso continuo. The Rottenburgh is the ideal all rounder: reliable, balanced and with a full tone. Depending on the wood it has a warm full sound for ensemble playing and is beautifully clear and expressive as a solo instrument.

The 4206 soprano is made from olivewood - East African. Dense, attractively marked wood with marbled appearance. Specific density 0.89. Full, rich tone.

This recorder comes with a hard case, cleaning rod and cloth, cork grease, fingering chart and maintenance instructions.

Pleasing sound

The instrument sits well in my hand and as I am playing it in a mellow but full tone seems to be developing. Exactly what I was looking for.

Clear, rounded and sonorous sound

Prompt delivery, and helpful advice from your recorder expert. The sound is clear and rounded, sonorous, and a joy to play for the permitted 5 mins per day so far. The recorder is being treated gently so am not sure about the very high notes, but all the signs are good. It is also very pretty!

Fantastic visit & purchase!

Excellent! My exquisite olive wood soprano blockflöte has made its ‘running in ‘ 5min debut to my Recorder Consort along with a student of mine on his terrific Pallisander Tenor . A brilliant service from The Early Music Shop , Saltaire, thank you!

Moeck Rottenburgh Soprano Recorder in Olivewood

Wonderful. Arrived 3 weeks later in Australia and still blowing it in. My recorder teacher Robyn Parker, said the sound gave her goose bumps. So that is a good indication of how lovely it sounds. I am an adult student doing 5th grade and the recorder leaves my other ones for dead... Highly recommended.
