£154.17 excluding VAT (UK Export Price)

Immensely popular range of recorders originally designed by Friederich von Huene after models by Belgian maker Jean-Hyacinth-Joseph Rottenburgh (1672-1756). Versatile, reliable and used by all levels of players who enjoy instruments made to consistently high standards. They are without doubt the world's most successful recorder series and remain one of our best sellers. The Rottenburgh is the instrument of choice for those recorder players who wish to play music at an advanced level. It is a reliable instrument with a carrying tone, whether played in small or large ensembles. It also lends itself perfectly for solo pieces, e.g. for sonatas with basso continuo. The Rottenburgh is the ideal all rounder: reliable, balanced and with a full tone. Depending on the wood it has a warm full sound for ensemble playing and is beautifully clear and expressive as a solo instrument.

This 4200 soprano is made from maple - European, hard, fine grained, porous and resilient. Specific density approx. 0.63. Soft fundamental tone. Impregnated, no need for further oiling.

Soft andprecise

I am still "playing it in", however I can tell that it sounds perfect overall. Very "soft" and yet sufficiently "precise", especially in the high tones. A must have recorder.

A lovely sounding recorder

I think that it is a great recorder. I'm just playing it in and the sound is already maturing.

Beautiful sound

Absolute dream of a recorder! Sounds great. Looks great. Comes with a good case and care items too.

Seems good so far. I'm not a good enough player to give a particularly helpful review. I bought the recorder to replace my plastic ones as they sounded bad when playing with my children, who are learning flute and clarinet. I'm finding it nice to play and it does feel and sound much better - a lot less harsh. The staff were friendly and helpful when choosing the instrument.

Moek soprano

This is a lovely little instrument. Such a difference from playing plastic. I now have a Moek Alto, Tenor and Soprano. All beautifully made and sounding instruments. It’s worth spending a little extra to get a good instrument.
