£287.50 excluding VAT (UK Export Price)

Immensely popular range of recorders originally designed by Friederich von Huene after models by Belgian maker Jean-Hyacinth-Joseph Rottenburgh (1672-1756). Versatile, reliable and used by all levels of players who enjoy instruments made to consistently high standards. They are without doubt the world's most successful recorder series and remain one of our best sellers. The Rottenburgh is the instrument of choice for those recorder players who wish to play music at an advanced level. It is a reliable instrument with a carrying tone, whether played in small or large ensembles. It also lends itself perfectly for solo pieces, e.g. for sonatas with basso continuo. The Rottenburgh is the ideal all rounder: reliable, balanced and with a full tone. Depending on the wood it has a warm full sound for ensemble playing and is beautifully clear and expressive as a solo instrument.

This 4107 sopranino is made from grenadilla (African blackwood). Very hard and extremely dense. Specific density approx 1.2. Bright, rich sound.

This recorder comes with a hard case, cleaning rod and cloth, cork grease, fingering chart and maintenance instructions.

This Rottenburgh recorder also comes with a free Moeck Z0001 maintenance set (recorder oil, oil brush, anti-condensant, paintbrush, maintenance manual).

Moeck Sopranino in Grenadilla

I am still playing the recorder in, but it has the most pure sand resonant sound. The exemplar pieces on the website helped me choose it remotely and we’re very accurate.

Beautiful instrument

I am delighted with this instrument. I’m not an expert, I have some other wooden recorders in pear wood and boxwood for recorder ensemble playing, but I’ve only ever had a plastic sopranino and the difference in playing and sound is huge. I’m particularly happy with the second register which is beautifully in tune with a clear tone. I bought it because I wanted a loud instrument to be heard above piano accordions and melodeons in an outside setting (Morris dancing band). It is not really louder than my plastic sopranino yet after its first few days of playing in, but it is certainly a vastly superior sound and a pleasure to play.
