Immensely popular range of recorders originally designed by Friederich von Huene after models by Belgian maker Jean-Hyacinth-Joseph Rottenburgh (1672-1756). Versatile, reliable and used by all levels of players who enjoy instruments made to consistently high standards. They are without doubt the world's most successful recorder series and remain one of our best sellers. The Rottenburgh is the instrument of choice for those recorder players who wish to play music at an advanced level. It is a reliable instrument with a carrying tone, whether played in small or large ensembles. It also lends itself perfectly for solo pieces, e.g. for sonatas with basso continuo. The Rottenburgh is the ideal all rounder: reliable, balanced and with a full tone. Depending on the wood it has a warm full sound for ensemble playing and is beautifully clear and expressive as a solo instrument.

The double C/C# bottom key helps players play the tenor in comfort without large finger stretches. The 'knick' creates a more comfortable hold allowing the arms to be close to the body, whilst still projecting the sound outwards.

This 4441 knick tenor with double key is made from stained maple - European, hard, fine grained, porous and resilient. Specific density approx. 0.63. Soft fundamental tone. Impregnated, no need for further oiling.
