Immensely popular range of recorders originally designed by Friederich von Huene after models by Belgian maker Jean-Hyacinth-Joseph Rottenburgh (1672-1756). Versatile, reliable and used by all levels of players who enjoy instruments made to consistently high standards. They are without doubt the world's most successful recorder series and remain one of our best sellers. The Rottenburgh is the instrument of choice for those recorder players who wish to play music at an advanced level. It is a reliable instrument with a carrying tone, whether played in small or large ensembles. It also lends itself perfectly for solo pieces, e.g. for sonatas with basso continuo. The Rottenburgh is the ideal all rounder: reliable, balanced and with a full tone. Depending on the wood it has a warm full sound for ensemble playing and is beautifully clear and expressive as a solo instrument.

This 4521 bass with double key is made from stained maple - European, hard, fine grained, porous and resilient. Specific density approx. 0.63. Soft fundamental tone. Impregnated, no need for further oiling.

Moeck Rottenburg Tenor Recorder in Boxwood

The Recorder came promptly, in an attractive case. The tone is round and sweet. One feature is the tremendous dynamic range from a powerful forte to a gentle piano. Also the Crook was slightly angled enabling the music to be read easier thank you Early Music
