Designed by Ralf Ehlert the Denner is a further indication of Moeck’s commitment to making historical recorders. Jacob Denner (1681-1735) was son of Johann Christoph Denner and both were renowned for the high quality of their woodwind instruments. The Moeck model is based on a very well preserved Denner instrument from the Musikhistorisk Museum in Copenhagen. Like the original, the instrument speaks effortlessly and has a balanced, bright and even tone throughout its range. The response is such that it is an agile instrument and the reliability of the upper register makes it an ideal solo instrument for players wishing to tackle the intricacies of the solo repertoire.
This 5338 Denner at a=415 is made from grenadilla (African blackwood). Very hard and extremely dense. Specific density approx 1.2. Bright, rich sound.
This recorder comes with a hard case, cleaning rod and cloth, cork grease, fingering chart and maintenance instructions.
