Lane: Suite Ancienne for Descant Recorder and Piano
Philip Lane is noted for his work on classic film scores, which he has reconstructed from the original soundtracks. His own music is light and tuneful, and this Suite, of only moderate difficulty, alludes to the 18th century era of gentility. After a rousing Intrada, the ballroom is evoked in a smooth Courtly Dance and a gracious Minuet, and the Suite ends with Revelry, a light-hearted evocation of Beau Brummels Bath Night romp.
