I bought this and an A string to convert my good modern viola to 'nearer baroque' to play the cello suites of Bach a bit more authentically. For G and C I used Eudoxas. And tuned to A=415 Vallotti. The end result sounds great and bedded in in a couple of days. Honestly the S is the hardest to get a clear tone on. That's to be expected on a gut string of this thickness. It must have been a challenge baroque violists lived with. Pleased overall.
