Küng's Superio series is based on original recorders by Stanesby Jnr. They have a wide, baroque bore which produces a strong sound, rich in overtones. These recorders have a large expressive range and will cope with the most demanding repertoire. The Superio recorders are highly ergonomic, with great attention given to comfort and the ease of fingering.

This soprano recorder is made of plumwood and comes in a hard case with a cleaning rod, cork grease and maintenance instructions.

  • 2-Piece
  • Made of plumwood
  • Wax impregnation
  • Pitch: a´= 442 Hz
  • Includes hard case, cleaning stick, cork grease, and fingering chart

Looks and sounds great

Arrived today after being on back order. I had not realised that the Early Music Shop 'Recorder Maintenance Book' could be added to your basket for free if you ordered a wooden recorder. I sent an email asking if it could be added retrospectively and it came with my recorder! Well done Early Music Shop for great service and also producing this useful little book. The recorder itself is very light in weight when you've been used to a resin recorder, but it looks and sounds great without needing a lot of air pressure. Very pleased and would highly recommend.

Excellent tone

Kung Superio Soprano Recorder performs just as I hoped. Nice tone, blends well with quartet but also sings out.

Good basic recorder

Kueng recorders are open and even in response. I have several different words in the Superio line and they were very consistent in tone and quality. Recommended

Pleasant Surprise

I have not yet used my new Kung Plumwood soprano in our recorder group (on hiatus due to COVID) but have played a bit with my partner in duets, and today I made a comparison among the Kung Plumwood and 4 other sopranos (Moeck - probably maple or pearwood, plastic Aulos, maple Rossler and Renaissance style wood recorder). Although it was not a blind test, I really preferred the new Kung plumwood. It has a very clear and upfront sound with nice overtones, especially in the lower notes. It wasn’t as loud as the Renaissance soprano, of course, but overall was very pleasing. I now have an (almost) complete set of Kung recorders except for the Contrabass (which I covet!). Plumwood in a recorder sounds very nice, indeed!

Jung descant recorder

Fantastic, swift delivery, brilliant instrument, I love all about it, tone ease of playing, colour, sturdy case! No problems at all!
