£1,229.17 excluding VAT (UK Export Price)

Küng's Superio series is based on original recorders by Stanesby Jnr. They have a wide, baroque bore which produces a strong sound, rich in overtones. These recorders have a large expressive range and will cope with the most demanding repertoire. The Superio recorders are highly ergonomic, with great attention given to comfort and the ease of fingering. The bass is a knick style bass which provides easy reach for the player and direct articulation.

This bass recorder is made of pearwood and comes in a hard case with a cleaning rod, cork grease, maintenance instructions, sling and a screw-in spike accessory.

Kung Superior Knick bass recorder in pearwood

From the first trial of this recorder I enjoyed the experience. The screw-in spike gives the chance for different playing positions. The Knick style also makes it easy to reach all of the holes easily even with small hands. The sound at the lower end is rich and the high notes speak very easily. I am looking forward to playing in consorts and orchestras when we are allowed!

Kung Superio Bass Recorder in Pearwood

I am very pleased with the above recorder. This is the second Kung bass recorder I have purchased from Early Music. However, I have been unable to use the spike with it because, at its shortest, I am still unable to play the recorder. It appears that Kung has done insufficient research into a length suitable for shorter players. This aspect has been very disappointing and I feel Early Music has to resolve this issue with Kung.
