Baroque Violin by Dota Theodoridis

A Baroque-style Violin based on a Stradivarius design of 1716. Handmade using traditional Cremonese methods by Norfolk-based maker Dota Theodoridis/Williams. It has been varnished in an antique style with home-made copal oil varnish and colour pigments including traditional ground madder root.

• Neck stop: 130mm
• Body stop to bridge: 195mm
• Swinging string length: 324mm (bridge to nut)
• Made using traditional European tone woods, maple for the back, ribs and neck; spruce front
• Boxwood pegs and end pin
• Imitation ivory top nut and saddle
• Finger board and tailpiece are handmade using highly figured maple with an ornamental maple veneer under the fingerboard and turned button decoration on the tailpiece
• Gut D, A and E strings, with a silver wound gut G string.
