A Baroque Oboe da Caccia after Eichentopf a415 by Millyard by English maker Tony Millyard.
This Oboe da Caccia is after the instrument by Eichentopf in the museum in Stockholm in Sweden and is available at a415.
The Oboe da Caccia is in the key of F, sounding a fifth below the normal C oboe. Although used mainly for playing Bach cantatas, his Christmas Oratorio and Easter Passion pieces, they were also used by other composers of the early 18th Century. They are made from a combination of sycamore with African Blackwood or English Boxwood detailing, and the main body is covered in leather. Our da Caccia comes supplied with a very sturdy semi-rigid case, 2 reeds and a fingering chart. The finger holes have been set out to facilitate playing by players with small hands.
