In this edition J. S. Bach's Three-Part Inventions have been arranged for 3 Viols (TrTB). The 14 Inventions are presented in two volumes.
The note values of all but one of the fourteen arrangements have been doubled to assist consort violists more accustomed to those encountered in 17th century fantasias. However, these pieces will stretch the abilities of most players, with their long notes succeeded by short note passages, frequent chromatic themes, leaps, and notes covering the entire range of each instrument.
