The Conservatorium recorders by Aura are made in the Coolsma workshops in the Netherlands. They are based on Bressan recorders, with a curved, highly conical windway which produces a broad, rich sound. This Conservatorium soprano recorder is made of grenadilla and is thumb-bushed. 

This recorder comes with a canvas zip-case, cleaning stick, cork grease and a fingering chart.

Soprano recorder in grenadillo

This instrument has a beautiful voice and is easy to play. I’m still playing it in so can’t comment on the highest notes but so far it is lovely, clear and warmer than I expected. I love it.

Aura conservatorium soprano recorder

This is a lovely instrument at a very reasonable price. It sounds beautifully sweet with excellent tuning across all ranges. Very sonorous and easy to produce a good quality, clear sound for solo work or within a group. It almost plays itself!! Thumb bush also helps protect against the finger nail dent which is common with regular use over time. Thanks EMS too, great service 🙂 5 stars.
