Changed the copper wound bass strings on my lute for these. Huge improvement, both tactile and acoustic. Less sustain and the sound is much more consistent between the registers.
Two things to know:
1. these are quite sticky and can easily snap if one tries to tune them up in one go, while they are sat in the nut slot. Aquila recommends to tune them up while outside the slot: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tEdauqxf6zQ
2. these are thicker for the same gauge than the copper wound equivalents. So you may have to adjust the nut slot (likely) and possibly drill a bigger hole in the bridge (only needed that for the 7th course).
