Aquiila fits best

It's been nearly a year since I bought a Lu-Mi 5-string cello piccolo from the EMS. I finished studying the 6th suite and am now studying violin sonata & partita #3. Maybe because the violin music's more frequent use of the hightest E and A strings (but definitely much more because of my unskillful position changes and bowing), they started to break more frequently. After trying Aquila and other two brands, I am convinced that Aquila strings fit best on my instrument: they sound most natural--comfortably soft with rich overtones, while other brands proved too strong and metallic (Gamut) or too conspicuous and less overtones (Toro). For the E string, the shop' recommendation was Aquila Bass viol D string, but I prefer Aquila Cello E string; the latter sounds deeper and more harmonious with the rest of Aquila cello strings.

Aquila Baroque Cello A-string

This string purchased as a back-up spare. Previous string which it replaced was excellent. Very prompt reply to my order (in the post that day, arrived next day).
