good stylish Harp

Well made, not too heavy, good sound. The strings are closer together than in the smaller verion (about 11 mm, while most harps have 13-15 mm), so it needs small fingers or an adapted technique.

Beautiful harp

(It should get 4 1/2 stars.) I had been wanting a Gothic (or Renaissance) harp for a while, but I didn't want to take money out of my IRA to buy one. Then I found this one. It's beautiful. I wanted it, and I bought it, but I didn't do much research on Renaissance harps first, so a few things surprised me: (1) The distance between strings is smaller than on a standard modern harp; (2) the string tension is less; (3) the monofilament nylon strings on the lowest few notes are a little weak -- you need to pluck them down at the bottom near the wood (watch some of Andrew Lawrence King's videos to see what he does). When I'm not practicing more "classical" things on my Dusty Strings Ravenna, I like to play scales and arpeggios and learn easy songs on my Gothic while I sit up in bed in the evenings. (Sometimes I'm just not in the mood to sit up straight on a stool and focus on a music stand.) I can hardly wait until I can play songs like "In the Bleak Mid-Winter".

EMS 29 string Gothic Harp

I received this harp safely in Japan. Thank you very much. The sound of the harp is beautiful and well made. The bag is also functional and convenient to carry. I am very happy with this harp.

Great harp

Beautiful sound (seems more crispy on videos, in person it's perfect - at least to me), beautifully made (wood, patterns, cuts). The distance between strings is maybe a bit smaller than average, tension is nice, super comfortable - at least to me, strings resonate long after being struck. If tuning is changed from c major to something else, sharps seems to get a bit out of tune after a day or two, which is perfectly normal I guess, especially for a new instrument. Dimension-wise, it's the best to be played if you're sitting on a lower chair, but it's also possible if the bottom is anywhere between that and your sitting height. If you're taller and sitting on average height chair, some elevation for the harp may be needed. Notion: there's no enough space to upgrade it with bridge pins (and levers) - but it is definitely worth it. Amazing instrument. It was packed very securely, in many layers, shipping to Denmark was fast and without any problems.
