A re-enactment medieval tabor with single snare, using only the best quality calf skins. The two skin heads are tied to a wooden frame with hemp rope. A hemp snare is tied to one head. The playing surface is about 13.5" and the drum is about 4.5" deep. Includes a stick.

Players usually hang the drum from the forearm while using one stick to strike the snared head. The tabor is suspended by a strap from the forearm, somewhere between the elbow and wrist.

The drum was delivered within two days to Ireland, which was mind-blowing. It came with a pair of drumsticks, which is more than in the description. I'm only a beginner taborer, but people tell me it sounds "medieval" when they hear me play, so I suppose it's working. The only thing so far that I will change is add a leather sleeve to protect my wrist from the coarse hemp cord.

It is a good instrument, crafted carefully, sounds good. I only missed the possibility to take off the snare and to tune the instrument. I added a tuning peg and some loops and now it is perfect
