The pieces in this volume have been organised to offer players a path of increasing challenge. Although much of the selected repertoire is contemporaneous with the crumhorn, not all the pieces hail from its era. Both older and newer arrangements have been included because they either suit the instrument or, through their ubiquity. offer players a familiar starting point. This flexible approach might reveal new facets of the instrument, serving as inspiration for further experimentation. This collection can be easily adapted for instruments related to the crumhorn, particularly the cornamuse.
