A re-enactment mediaeval drum using only the best quality calf skins. This cylindrical drum has two heads, one with a snare. When the drum head is struck with the drum stick, the snare adds a vibration, or rattle, to the drum's din. The Medieval style drums are made with two, rope tensioned, skin heads that are rolled and stitched with the snare on the top head.

This drum comes with 1 drum stick and includes a metal hook to help suspend the drum from your belt or strap while playing.

Traveling drum

Nice little drum with good sound for the small size, perfect for traveling and for long exhausting session, because it is very light!

Good sounding/looking little drum for the price, though resonant head had a small tear

Bought for some early music projects I'm working on at present. This is quite a small drum, but has surprisingly good projection, especially with the string snare engaged. The rope construction is quite authentic, though the wooden shell is a little cheap feeling. Skins look, feel and sound very nice, though I found a small tear in my resonant head upon delivery. I have covered it over, and it doesn't really affect the sound much (as the other end is struck primarily) but not a great start. As the drum looks good, and gives an authentic medieval tabor sound on a budget, it's hard to fault it too much as the skin issue was likely a manufacturing/delivery issue. The drum sticks included are quite cute.
