The 709W 'Haka' alto plastic recorder in an imitation rosewood finish.

The 709W is made after an original instrument by early 18th century Dutch maker Richard Haka. It has a rich, reedy tonal quality, making it suitable for much of the baroque solo repertoire, with a stronger more reliable tone than cheaper models. 

This recorder is in three pieces and is supplied with a brown case, cleaning rod, thumb-rest, fingering chart and joint grease.

Plastic recorder

It’s very good barouqe recorder. Nicely tuned and good in all registers. It’s wearth every penny alongside other plastic flutes. Definetley a bargain and useful when wood recorders need to take a break. Recomend it!

Lovely Recorder

Beautiful sounding recorder. Unfortunately, due to Rheumatoid Arthritis, I am unable to span the lower holes. I have changed to a Soprano and doing much better.

Great plastic recorder!

I'm by no means a professional, but I've recently gotten back into flute after 16 years and am doing arrangements and recordings for fun. I had Peripole Angel soprano and alto recorders for years, and they were good for the money. However, these Haka recorders offer an ease of playing and depth of sound well beyond any plastic recorder I've ever used. I had maple recorders many years ago and the Hakas are superior to the cheap maple ones I had as well. I really think these hold up well to cheaper wooden instruments and are ideal for intermediate players like me who aren't ready for a hand-made wooden instrument or otherwise can't afford them. I think I'll likely be using these for life!

Aulus 709w alto recorder for beginner

This is a lovely recorder, I’m very happy with it. As a beginner I relied upon the previous reviews, which were very helpful and accurate! It does feel a little longer than my old wooden alto but it is actually easier to hold and find the correct fingering, even though I have small hands. It sounds excellent too, very reedy and mellow. I’ve found that it does clog up quite a bit, however this may be down to my inexperience. Fast delivery, thanks!
