Recorder31 Day 6 | Sarah Jeffery Reviews the Moeck Amaranth Range

We look forward to partnering with Sarah Jeffery's Team Recorder every year during Recorder31, and this year is no exception. Sarah's YouTube channel continues to go from strength to strength and her influence on the recorder scene is palpable. For this year's video, we lent Sarah the new range of recorders in Amaranth by Moeck, the latest addition to their popular Rottenburgh model, for her to demonstrate and review.

From sopranino to tenor, she explores the tonal qualities of each size, comparing them with instruments from her own collection along the way. Released just a few months ago, in May 2026, these instruments have already proved successful and found their way into the hands of many happy players!

Continuing today's theme, here's some audio samples of one of the Amaranth recorders Sarah didn't try out! The Moeck Rottenburgh Tenor in Amaranth is the non-keyed equivalent of the comfort tenor in Sarah's video, and the sound is broadly comparable, but the lack of keywork makes it even lighter and suitable for players with a wider stretch.
