Recorder31 Day 31 | Announcing our Recorder Festival 2025
We've come to the end of another Recorder31, but our recorder events don't stop here! Today we're announcing a new event for 2025, that will bring the recorder community together in our Saltaire home.
Recorder Festival 2025
30 May – 1 June 2025
Presented by The Early Music Shop & Society of Recorder Players
We are delighted to announce that we will be bringing the recorder community together for the Recorder Festival 2025 in Saltaire, West Yorkshire, next summer! The festival is hosted in partnership with the Society of Recorder Players in place of their (usually annual) National Festival.
Saltaire has been a home for The Early Music Shop since we moved to the iconic Salts Mill site in 2007, and what better way to celebrate our longstanding relationship with the area by welcoming recorder players of all ages, backgrounds and levels to this beautiful corner of the world.
The festival will bring together playing sessions, workshops, performances and shopping opportunities. The main festival activities will take place in the Titus Salt School, which is just a short 5-minute drive (or 15-minute walk) from The Early Music Shop's showroom.
The list of performers, conductors and tutors will include a who's-who of the recorder scene in the UK and further afield. We're still finalising them all, but we're sure there'll be something for everyone!
Tickets will be available soon! Sign up to our mailing list to make sure you don't miss the announcement!

The Sound of Recorder Music!
Our final Sound of Recorder Music comes from the Moeck Flauto 1 Plus Soprano. Maybe you've been inspired to play recorder for the first time as a result of our Recorder31 content. A recorder with a plastic head and wooden body is a great way to take the first leap – with the added tonal qualities of the maple wood yet maintenance-free plastic headjoint, it's a great option.
