We're excited to share a premiere video performance of Anna Stegmann & La Risonanza (Fabio Bonizzoni) performing Vivaldi's Concerto in c minor (RV441). This has been generously shared with us for Recorder31 from a concert recorded on 26 March 2021 in Museo Nazionale Scienza e Tecnologia Leonardo Da Vinci, Sala delle Colonne, Milano, IT.
Enjoy the whole concert of different Vivaldi Concertos performed by La Risonanza led by Fabio Bonizzoni with soloists Anna Stegmann (recorder), Ruiqi Ran (violin) and Elena Bianchi (bassoon).
Antonio Vivaldi: Concerto in c (RV441)
We would like to call this a ‘lagoon’ concerto because the soft tutti sounds of the orchestra remind us of the calm rhythm of the strong waves of the Venetian lagoon in all its splendour. The horizon is wide, distant, slightly wavy. It’s sunny and the sound of the flute raises high above all this. The solo takes the calm pace of an albatross and follows every now and then the more nervous flow of a seagull or a cormorant. By times, the solo lines even compare to kingfisher that throws itself quickly into the waves in search of its prey. Due to the extreme speed, the recorder's sound becomes aggressive, almost recalling percussive sounds. Luckily, the orchestra’s enigmatic playing is embedded in calmness reminding us of the most magical city of the world… This ‘lagoon’ concert is a true masterpiece.
